Synopsis :

Davis (Jake Gyllenhaal), a successful investment banker, fight, after losing his wife in a tragic car accident. Despite the pressures of his father-in-law Phil (Chris Cooper) to pull together, Davis continues to unravel. What begins as a letter of complaint to a vending machine company becomes a series of letters that reveal surprising personal admissions. Davis lyrics capture the attention of the customer service representative Karen (Naomi Watts) and, amid emotional and financial burdens of their own, the two form an unlikely connection. With the help of Karen and her son Chris (Judah Lewis), Davis begins to rebuild, from the demolition of the life she had known.
